Each SLS system is highly configurable. The system can have a mix of LED sources, laser sources, different fiber types and different output power levels. If a standard configuration does not fit the application, please contact a sales representative to discuss the possibility. |
Stabilized Light Source
• Up to 48 outputs in one chassis (2U full rack); platform supports LEDs, lasers, and SLED options.
• Factory-configurable wavelength mix and source types; mix LED/laser sources, wavelengths, and fiber types (SM 9/125; MM 50/125, 62.5/125, 105/125).
• Adjustable output power; typical levels by source: DFB 0/10/13/20/23/26 dBm, FP 0 or 10 dBm, LED −18 dBm @ 850 nm / −21 dBm @ 1300 nm.
• Combined sources on the same port: 850/1300 (MM), 1310/1550 (SM), 1490/1625, or 1310/1490/1550/1625.
• Supports common connector types on the front panel (SC, LC, FC, ST); ordering includes FC/APC, FC/UPC, SC/APC, SC/UPC.
• Stabilized optical output: ±0.02 dB over 1 hour with ≤ 1 °C change; calibration not required unless specified by quality processes.

Description
The SLS-200 stabilized light source is a highly configurable, switched-output platform with LED, laser, and SLED options. It’s offered in compact rack enclosures—1U half rack, 2U half rack, and 2U full rack—supporting up to 8, 16, and 48 outputs respectively. Remote control is available over USB or Ethernet (SCPI), and common connector types (SC, LC, FC, ST) are supported.
The SLS-200 can be built with up to 24 discrete lasers or LEDs in one chassis, and you can mix source types, wavelengths, fiber types, and output power levels to match your application. Calibration is generally not required due to the source stability in power and wavelength.
As a switched-output system, the SLS-200 routes its internal sources to many ports, enabling dense multi-port test setups in a single box (up to 48 outputs in the 2U full rack).
For CWDM and other wavelength plans, DFB configurations cover nominal wavelengths from 1271 to 1611 nm (selectable in 20 nm steps). Typical DFB output power options include 0, 10, 13, 20, 23, and 26 dBm, with < 1 nm source bandwidth and < 3 nm center-wavelength accuracy. FP lasers are available at 1310/1490/1550/1625 nm with < 10 nm bandwidth and < 15 nm center-wavelength accuracy, and LED options include 850/1300 nm with typical outputs of −18 dBm (850 nm) and −21 dBm (1300 nm). Power stability is ±0.02 dB over 1 hour with ≤ 1 °C temperature change.
Applications
• Optical alignment
• Environmental testing of IL for cables and optical components
• Real time IL monitoring
Compliance
• Available with controlled launch conditions (EF,70/70, AS100, etc.)
The SLS systems come in both a half rack system with up to 4 discrete sources and a full rack system with up to 24 ports of optical sources. This compact size allows for more working bench space for the technician. |
Due to the stability of these optical sources in power and wavelength, there is no need to get them calibrated unless specified by quality processes. |
The SLS systems accommodate standard connector types such as SC, LC, FC, ST, etc |
Integrate the SLS system into an automation process using the USB SDK or via ethernet commands to control the instrument. |
