ILA

Description

High-coherence, cost-effective amplification for blue and visible wavelengths

The ILA series from Santec delivers high-power, narrow-linewidth output at challenging wavelengths using advanced injection-locking technology. Designed as a compact alternative to frequency-doubled systems, ILA amplifiers provide excellent beam quality and spectral purity for precision applications.

A proprietary auto-tracking system continuously stabilises the injection lock, overcoming the traditional sensitivity of Fabry–Perot diode amplifiers to environmental drift.

Auto-tracking injection locking

Maintains stable lock through continuous monitoring and real-time adjustment, ensuring reliable operation.

High coherence and beam quality

Delivers narrow-linewidth output with beam quality superior to typical tapered amplifier systems.

Cost-effective alternative to SHG systems

Access key wavelengths without the complexity and cost of nonlinear frequency conversion.

Optimised for atomic physics transitions

Demonstrated performance at key wavelengths used in Sr, Yb, and Rydberg experiments.

Typical Performance

  • 370nm (Yb⁺): ~100mW
  • 399nm (Yb): >200mW
  • 461nm (Sr): up to 800mW
  • 480nm (Rb Rydberg): ~400mW
  • 509nm (Cs Rydberg): ~200mW
  • 657nm (Ca clock): ~300mW
  • 689nm (Sr MOT): ~300mW
  • 698nm (Sr clock): ~300mW

Applications

  • Laser cooling and trapping (Sr, Yb, Yb⁺)
  • Optical clock systems
  • Rydberg excitation experiments
  • Precision spectroscopy
  • Quantum optics

System Integration

ILA systems are designed to operate with stable seed lasers, including our tunable diode platforms. They provide a compact, lower-complexity alternative to SHG-based systems, while remaining compatible with standard isolation and beam delivery configurations.
